Hey All!
…….Welcome to Natural Childbirth Education! I created this website so that anyone who was searching to know more about natural childbirth could have an all-in-one site to peruse. As you will see through the pages of this site, pregnancy and labor is my passion and love in life.
…….I am a mother of 3 adorable children, born at home, without any pain medication or intervention. The birth of my children were the most amazing and wonderful experiences of my life!
…….My husband and I took The Bradley Method® classes when we were pregnant with our daughter, Addison. They were great classes and gave us a wealth of knowledge about what the uninterrupted natural process of birth was supposed to be like. I was able to walk into labor confident that my body was created to birth babies and I trusted the natural process as it took me on an amazing, life building, & life changing journey.
…….My passion for educating women about pregnancy, labor and birth started when I began to notice a pattern in the birth stories of my close friends and their close friends. I realized that there was a problem when I could “predict” how a birth would go as they were sharing it with me; that something wasn’t right when I knew what my friend was going to say as she began to tell me that her birth “didn’t go quite as planned…”. It’s that age old concept that when ‘something’ seems to be happening to ‘everyone’ then ‘everyone’ is not the problem, the ‘something’ is the problem. Let me try to illustrate that with a little story. I had this teacher once who as much as she tried to teach us all clearly and accurately, she really wasn’t the best at teaching. Nearly without fail during her tests the majority of her class would get lower than average grades and the minor few would get good grades. Time after time this happened, and time after time we got lectured as a class for doing poorly. When the majority of the class fails so many times it reflects something of the teacher, not the students. It’s the same concept for the typical modern-day birth. When the majority of the birth stories have the same interventions, the same disappointments and generally the same expected or unexpected outcomes, it would begin to show that the moms are not to blame for this, but instead something that is happening to them all similarly in birth is causing the same repeated outcomes.
…….I originally began my journey apprenticing with a local midwife. As much as I loved this experience, it became clear to me that this was not the place that my passion truly lied. When I was working with mothers who had chosen to do unmedicated, natural homebirths I didn’t have a market that needed to be educated. Most homebirth moms are phenomenally well educated long before they choose to use a midwife for the their births. I realized that my passion was to try and reach my friends and their friends BEFORE birth, even before pregnancy, in order to help them seek education for themselves and take control for what kind of birth they wanted to experience. I firmly believe that any woman has the right to choose what birth she wants, whether she chooses a homebirth, hospital birth, unmedicated or medicated, or even if she goes for that elected c-section. If she took the time and responsibility to seek out all the pros and cons beforehand, and educate herself on the matter, and then still chose whatever path she wanted, that is her prerogative & I respect that… as long as she is educated & chose with knowledge. My passion is for the moms who do not know to educate themselves and take that control. The moms that will walk through the doors of their hospital thinking that their birth will go exactly as they want with no formal training or understanding of what certain procedures may or may not cause in their labor. My passion is to debunk the common myths about labor and birth. My passion is to see my friends, their friends, and every other pregnant mom take control and have the birth they want, one that they can look back on the rest of their lives, and be proud!!
*The statements and opinions found in this website are strictly opinion that is based on personal research from books, websites, conversations with midwives & doctors etc… I am a certified childbirth educator. I am not a doctor and do not practice medicine. Anything found on this page should be researched by each individual person and discussed in further detail with your medical provider.*

What a great analogy, the poorly taught class and the poorly managed birth system. Thanks for making this site, I know you will help many many moms. Kudos to you and your passion! I hope to meet you in person someday!

Thank you for your sweet words. My hope & passon is to help other women! I have been dismayed by how cruel & incorrect the medical establishment can be. Having my children (my way, in my home) were the best experiences of my life. It saddens me that other women who very easily couldve, didn’t get that bc of a flawed system.
